Vacational Aesthetics of the Environment (VAE) is a series of eight video collages that merge digitized 8mm family archive film with contemporary digital documentary footage. Each video is presented through dual circular windows, evoking the sensation of looking through binoculars or vintage stereoscopes. The works juxtapose intimate scenes of mid-20th-century vacations with images of storms, floods, and changing coastal landscapes, drawing a visual dialogue between nostalgia and environmental disruption.

Through these diptychs, VAE explores how personal and collective memories intersect with the evolving realities of climate and place. The circular framing not only references a way of seeing but also suggests the cyclical nature of memory and environmental change.
