Sea Crest is the central piece of the Tide of Memory project. The video presents a bird’s-eye view of a turbulent sea, occupying almost the entire screen. In the lower left corner, a circular black “hole” acts as a portal, revealing archival footage from the 1950s and 60s of family vacations. The restless ocean evokes a vast, unknowable universe, while the circular window becomes a black hole—drawing viewers into another dimension of memory and time.

Juxtaposed with the Black TOM and White TOM videos, Crest invites reflection on the boundaries between the collective and the personal, the present and the past, and the forces—natural and emotional—that shape our sense of belonging.
