"El mar inmenso, el inmenso mar" 2024

Multimedia installation composed of a projected video, pencil lines on the wall, a GIF displayed on a monitor,

a large-scale scroll drawing, and a full-color vertical video. Variable dimensions.

"Inmenso mar" is a multimedia installation that intertwines the fluidity of memory with the present moment, exploring the passage of time through visual transitions from monochrome to color and the movement of the sea.

Inmenso Mar begins with a projected video evoking an ancient Japanese drawing of the sea, accompanied by a poem that unfolds line by line, capturing the essence of the waves and their constant flow. Some lines of the poem "escape" from the projection onto the wall, transforming into pencil strokes that guide viewers through a visual journey.

Following these lines, viewers encounter a GIF projected on a monitor, where the movement of the sea repeats in an endless loop, suspending time. Further along, a large-scale drawing on a scroll deepens the experience, grounding the verses in the weight of memory and time. The journey culminates in a full-color video where the sea comes to life, with human figures walking along the shore, appearing and disappearing like fleeting memories carried by the waves.

In Inmenso Mar, the sea symbolizes memory and change. Each element—from the initial video to the lines on the wall, the GIF, the scroll, and the final video—constructs a narrative of belonging and disappearance, inviting us to contemplate what remains and what fades into the vastness of the immense.
