Tide of Memory (The Vortex) is an immersive installation that explores memory as a fragile fissure. A monumental ocean projection flows across a surface of transparent plastic—material commonly used for protection against storms and floods. In the lower corner, a circular opening functions as a vortex, revealing fragments of 8 mm home movies filmed during the golden age of tourism in South Florida.

The tension between the vast, moving sea and the delicate, translucent plastic evokes the vulnerability of both memory and environment, reflecting on how the past surfaces and dissolves within the unstable tides of the present.
